Rat Taxidermy Class

In this one day taxidermy class, you'll be learning how to skin, prep, and mount a life-size standing rat. We'll be going over all of the details so that you learn the skills you need to start basic taxidermy. This is a great gateway into the world of this unique art form!

Pricing: $200 per person / if you wish to sign up with a deposit please input coupon code "50% deposit" - your remaining balance of $100 will be due the day of the class via cash, check, card, Paypal or Venmo. 

Where: Hive and Forge in Salem MA

When: Sunday July 17th, 2021 Class runs 12pm-5pm

Who: Working alongside licensed taxidermist Nicole Baldelli. She is the owner of the businesses Nikki Deerest Novelty Taxidermy and Lone Fox Taxidermy. She has over 6 years of taxidermy experience and a wide range of background with art and animals.

Details: All students are required to sign a waiver to participate. This class is 18+ as we will be working with sharp objects. We do allow responsible young adults ages 13-17 with a signed parental consent form. You may email us for the consent form in advance or request one at the class.

Parking: There is a lot next to Hive and Forge where you can park. Salem also has multiple parking garages and lots in the area. You will need to pay for parking, please consider this and ensure you arrive early enough, depending on the time of year Salem can be very busy and lots sometimes fill up quick. 

What's included: All basic supplies needed to complete your taxidermy piece. We will have wooden bases and other natural items. We also encourage you to get creative! Feel free to bring any fun props along with you if you'd like to dress up your rat! We will also provide some light refreshments.

Class sizes are limited to 6 students to allow proper social distancing guidelines. 

Refund / Cancellation / Late Policy

There are no refunds for classes. We do allow class transfers for $50. If you have signed up for a class and are not able to attend, please contact us via email at LoneFoxTaxidermy@gmail.com about rescheduling and to pay your transfer fee. Class transfers are only allowed up to 72 hours before the event, if within 72 hours of the event your ticket fee is not refundable or transfereable. The only exception to this is finding another person to take your spot. If you cancel before the 72 hour mark you will receive a 50% refund of the full ticket price. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late to the class you will not be allowed to attend. No refunds will be given for no shows and late arrivals. There are no other exceptions to these policies.

***No animals used for my classes are harmed for the purpose of taxidermy. I work with breeders, friends, pest control, and fellow good Samaritans to source animals that have either died naturally or are a result of the farming/meat industry. All remains are used and nothing goes to waste.
