Traditional Taxidermy Class

During a one-on-one traditional taxidermy class you can learn to mount an already tanned specimen. We will teach you everything from the importance of hide prep to choosing the right reference photos and ensure you bring home a life-like taxidermy piece.

A traditional taxidermy class for mounting is for one day (8 hours) and costs $300. This includes use of all necessary equipment as well as miscellaneous supplies such as hide paste, clay, etc. The class also includes lunch, snacks, and beverages.

You will need to provide your own specimen for mounting as well as the form and eyes needed for the mount. If you are unable to procure these items, we can help you with this.

If you are interested in an extended class to include skinning, please enquire as we do also offer this as well. Each additional day is $300. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total class fee is due to reserve your spot.

Creating a taxidermy squirrel is great first project for a beginner taxidermist! In this class you’ll be provided with a grey squirrel specimen, form, eyes, and basic habitat. We’ll start by skinning the squirrel and go through the process of dry preserve. From there we’ll use reference photos to ensure a life-like look.

This is a one day class (8 hours) and costs $250. This will also include lunch, snacks, and beverages. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due up front to reserve your spot.
