About the Event

In this one day taxidermy class, you'll be learning how to skin, prep, and mount a life-size standing mouse or small rat. We'll be going over all of the details so that you learn the skills you need to start basic taxidermy. This is a great gateway into the world of this unique art form!

Pricing: $200 ticket fee / if you wish to sign up with a $100 deposit please use coupon code "$100 deposit mouse" - the remaining balance of $100 will be due at the day of class. We accept cash, check, cards, Venmo, and Paypal at the day of the class for the balance due.

Who: Working alongside licensed taxidermist Nicole Baldelli. She is the owner of the businesses Nikki Deerest Novelty Taxidermy and Lone Fox Taxidermy. She has over 7 years of taxidermy experience and a wide range of background with art and animals.

Details: All students are required to sign a consent form before class. Students ages 13-17 will need a parent/guardian to sign as well. Students under the age of 13 are not permitted.

Parking: There is a lot next to Hive and Forge where you can park. Salem also has multiple parking garages and lots in the area. You will need to pay for parking in the local lots. Please plan accordingly as Salem can be busy at certain times of the year. Late arrivals of 30 minutes or more will not be allowed to attend the class.

What's included: All basic supplies needed to complete your taxidermy piece. We will have wooden bases and other natural items as well as some fun props. We also encourage you to get creative! Feel free to bring any fun props along with you if you'd like to dress up your mouse! Hobby Lobby and Michael's typically have a great selection of miniature items. We will also provide some light refreshments.

***No animals used for my classes are harmed for the purpose of taxidermy. I work with breeders, friends, pest control, and fellow good Samaritans to source animals that have either died naturally or are a result of the farming/meat industry, and pests. All remains are used and nothing goes to waste.
